Day 3: Thursday 4th August 2016
Our last day! A bittersweet morning with davening being led by David Neifeld followed
by a delicious breakfast where Aimee announced everyone’s groups for our day
trip to Alton Towers. Then off we went to the coach where we had the most
incredible last day! We laughed, went on rides and took some great pictures! No
one wanted to leave. When we got back, it was apparent that we had
worked up quite the appetite being on rollercoasters all day, so it was
straight to dinner! With a heavy heart we sang our camp song as we left the
dinner hall and started to load the coach with our bags and say our final
goodbyes to all the staff and leaders and all of the great friends that everyone
has made over the last few days! This truly was the best Tribe Gad Camp yet! We
can’t wait to see everyone back again next year!

Day 2: Tuesday 2nd August
A bright start this morning as Sharon Radley, head of
education at Tribe, lead the morning davening (prayers) followed by a nutritious and
delicious breakfast. The kids then participated in a brilliant activity called
‘Mining for Gold’ – a scavenger hunt with a twist. The camp was split into
teams and given a list of tasks to complete. For every task they completed they
would gain a certain amount of seconds on their clock. At the end of the round,
each group had the opportunity to go down to the ‘vault’ and search for gold –
but only for the amount of time they had on their clocks. The kids had a blast
and managed to collect all the gold in sight!
Another fantastic lunch followed during which the afternoon activity was announced… Colour War! The kids couldn’t wait to start competing, and watching the whole camp get involved together was truly amazing! After a good shower and some tuck it was time for dinner, followed by another session of ‘challenge’ groups. At the end of challenge, each child received a ticket to tonight’s activity! Movie night! All 75 of us, kids, leaders and senior staff will be huddled up to watch Aladdin in our pyjamas, whilst munching on delicious popcorn and other treats, and singing along to all the songs, for a super fun end to another brilliant day.

Day 1: Monday 1st August 2016
Early start this morning as we all waited eagerly by Toys R Us for all of Camp Gad to arrive at the stop so we could begin our exciting journey to camp. Immediately from the bus ride to our campsite, it was clear to see that this camp certainly wouldn’t be a quiet one! There was so much laughter and excitement – a great start! Once at the site, the kids had plenty energy left to jump and play on the bouncy castles and inflatables. After a great lunch and some ‘getting to know you’ games, the Madrichim staged a fantastic murder-mystery for the kids to solve giving them a great opportunity to explore the grounds. Next they received their dorms and had some free time and some delicious tuck, before having their first group ‘challenge’ session, whereby the camp is split into several smaller groups to learn, play and get to know each other and the leaders better, in a more intimate setting. Next was a delicious dinner followed by an incredibly tropical Hawaiian Luau party where the kids danced, made ‘mocktails’, had various competitions… which just about tired them out enough to want to go to sleep. What an incredible first day!
